Entry to the Manches Cup

DIVISIONAL STRUCTURE

Division 1 is for teams with a qualified sailor in their firm/company. This sailor has to have a minimum of a coastal skipper qualification and 3 years racing experience on 35-40 foot boats. All boats in this division are matched and with spinnakers.
Division 2a is for teams with experienced sailors aboard. The yachts in this division are all Beneteau 40.7's with spinnakers. All of these yacht must be booked with a professional skipper and a 1st mate if spinnakers are going to be flown.

Division 2b is also for teams with experienced sailors aboard. This division is for every other type of IRC racing yacht all with professional skippers and spinnakers. Again we highly recommend, and sometimes insist, that some of these yachts come with a second professional crew member.
Division 3, the cruising division, is for teams with less or no experience aboard, or for teams who want more of a relaxed time on the water without the added complication of spinnakers. These yachts can either come with professional skippers or, with the suitable experience and qualifications, can go on a bareboat basis.
